Volkswagen Diesel Emission Defect

Volkswagen recently admitted that the 482,000 Volkswagen diesel cars sold in the United States had a cheating software allowing the cars to spew as much as 40 times the legal limit of nitrogen oxide.  This software allowed these violations go to un-defected and avoid emission problems.

World wide, up to 11 million automobiles are affected.  Consequently, Volkswagen has been in crisis mode to protect its goodwill, keep its dealers  happy and placate their customers to avoid mounting lawsuits.

As part of the strategy, VW has announced that it is offering a $500 gift card, $500 in service and product credits through its dealers and free three year 24 hour roadside assistance to all registered owners and lessee of a Volkswagen diesel car, as of November 8th.

The deadline to take advantage of this offer expires April 2015.

The  VW cash and credit offer, attempts to win back some goodwill for the company and to build some business to their dealers who are very un-happy with the revelation of this scandal.

Many California car defect lawyers and class action attorneys like Pete Bezek have already begun to file lawsuits looking to obtain class action status to require VW to buy back these defective cars.

According to Mr. Bezek, in an interview in the Los Angeles Times, the offer is not enough and he is going to make sure that Volkswagen has to buy back your car at the price you originally paid for it.
